NEMO 3 double beta decay experiment : latest results
The double beta decay experiment NEMO 3 has been taking data since February 2003. The aim of this experiment is to search for neutrinoless decay and investigate two neutrino double beta decay in seven different enriched isotopes (Mo, Se, Ca, Zr, Cd, Te and Nd). After analysis of the data corresponding to 693 days, no evidence for 0νββ decay in Mo and Se was found. The half-life limits at 90% C....
متن کاملDigital Pulseshape Analysis by Neural Networks for the Heidelberg-Moscow-Double-Beta-Decay-Experiment
The Heidelberg-Moscow Experiment is presently the most sensitive experiment looking for neutrinoless double-beta decay. Recently the already very low background has been lowered by means of a Digital Pulseshape Analysis using a one parameter cut to distinguish between pointlike events and multiple scattered events. To use all the information contained in a recorded digital pulse, we developed a...
متن کاملNemo-3 Double Beta Decay Experiment: Lastest Results
Latest results on 0νββ, 0νχ 0 ββ and 2νββ decays of different isotopes from NEMO-3 double beta decay experiment are presented. In particular, new limits at 90% C.L. on neurtinoless double beta decay of 100 M o and 82 Se have been obtained, T 1/2 > 5.8 × 10 23 y and T 1/2 > 2.1 × 10 23 y, respectively.
متن کاملDouble Beta Decay: Theory, Experiment, and Implications
Double beta decay is a rare spontaneous nuclear transition in which the nuclear charge changes by two units while the mass number remains the same. It has been long recognized as a powerful tool to study lepton number conservation in general, and neutrino properties in particular. Since the lifetimes of double beta decays are so long, the experiments on double beta decay are very challenging an...
متن کاملLatest results from the PHOBOS experiment
Over the past years PHOBOS has continued to analyze the large datasets obtained from the first five runs of the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) at Brookhaven National Laboratory. The two main analysis streams have been pursued. The first one aims to obtain a broad and systematic survey of global properties of particle production in heavy ion collisions. The second class includes the stud...
